Two weeks ago my dear Silvia stopped working. No water was coming out her mouth anymore :( Search on the web for a authorized repair service to check out what was wrong with her. Since the Italian lady is hardly sold here in Brazil it wasn't easy to find somebody who could do this. The diagnosis was: a failing solenoid coil, and not the little pump which was at first suspected to be broken. Since these spare parts are here in Brazil imported the repair service quoted me an outrageous value to do the repair (about 80% of the US price of a new one). So I decided to take Silvia back, un-repaired. but... apparently the solenoid coil regained it's live back again after it was remounted back in Silvia. So, Silvia worked again ;). My Silvia is now back on our kitchen sink, continuing her daily job, making espresso and cappuccino.
And if she does break down again at least I know now how to repair her. (Thanks Rindert for searching and investigating).
